Africa could face a deficit of up to 6.1 million health workers by 2030, according to a Labour Minister. Speaking at the Second Africa Health Workforce Investment Forum in Accra, the Minister warned this shortage would occur if decisive action is not taken to address the issue.

Speaking at the Second Africa Health Workforce Investment Forum in Accra on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the Minister said Africa could face a deficit of up to 6.1 million health workers by 2030 if decisive action is not taken.
