Chris Hughton Former Ghana national football team, head coach, Chris Hughton has made a strong recovery after being diagnosed with prostate cancer in April 2025.According to reports by the Daily Mail, the 67-year-old identified the illness at an early stage and underwent surgery the following month. From the outset, Hughton remained calm and optimistic about his condition, expressing confidence in his chances of recovery.“The news certainly didn’t scare me. I know everyone is different, but my first impression was ‘I’ll be fine’. I didn’t instantly think ‘this is probably just going to kill me’. I just thought, ‘OK, we’ll have to do what we have to do,’” he said.Following medical advice, Hughton opted to have his prostate removed. One year after the procedure, he reports that his recovery has gone smoothly and that he feels healthy and full of energy.“I’m one year post-operation, and I feel good. It’s all gone very well. I’ve got a lot of energy,” he added.Hughton enjoyed an accomplished playing career, most notably with Tottenham Hotspur, where he made 398 appearances and won both the UEFA Cup and two FA Cup titles. He also featured for West Ham United and Brentford, while earning 53 caps for the Republic of Ireland national football team.In management, he led Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion to promotion to the Premier League, and also managed Birmingham City, Norwich City, and Nottingham Forest.
